The Text:
This week’s text is The Tour pt. 3, as we continue
extrapolating and exfoliating all the details out of this massive,
consequential, dense chapter, spanning from pages 92 – 111.
Discussions surround:
Jurassic Atmospheres, Grant's velociraptor excavation, 0.4 per cent success rates, feminism, paleontology, Believe me, I know!, and Building a Mystery.I said that “Malcolm,” said that programmers
liked to leave a trapdoor for themselves in the code, a signature letting
people know “Kilroy was here,” but of course Malcolm had nothing to do with it –
I meant Crichton!
The post-production team that puts SFX into a scene isn’t
the gaffer - it's the foley artist. Foley artsits use an arsenal of props, foley
artists devise and record the everyday sounds heard in films, television
shows, and video games—noises like footsteps, a sword being drawn from a
sheath, or the swishing of clothing as two people walk past each other.
Side effects:
May cause intense cravings for tiramasu.
