Welcome to the Juras-Sick Park-Cast podcast, the Jurassic Park podcast about Michael Crichton's 1990 novel Jurassic Park, and also not about that, too.
In this episode, I introduce myself (hi) and the podcast, and cover everything from the front cover to the epigraphs.

The Epigraphs
“Reptiles are abhorrent because of their cold body, pale
colour, cartilaginous skeleton, filthy skin, fierce aspect, calculating eye,
offensive smell, harsh voice, squalid habitation, and terrible venom; wherefore
their Creator has not exerted his powers to make many of them.” – Linnaeus
1797.
“You cannot recall a new form of life.” Erwin Chargaff –
1972
I found a 1994 drawing of the T. rex that I made with the movie on pause! |
Corrections!
· I said that I believed the books dedication was to A-M and T, I said
they might be Crichton’s children from his first marriage – which was almost
entirely incorrect. A-M is probably Anne Marie Martin, his third wife, and
active wife at the time, and T was likely his daughter Taylor who would have
been newborn in 1989. My apologies.
Thank you!
